Pharrell Williams, the newly-appointed creative director of Louis Vuitton menswear, showcased his chic and fashionable style at the Dior Homme Menswear Spring/Summer 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week. The singer-turned-designer made a striking entrance, donning a head-to-toe denim ensemble and completing the look with a pair of eye-catching miniature sunglasses.
These custom-designed gold sunglasses, created by Tiffany & Co, featured small egg-shaped lenses adorned with over 80 baguette and round diamonds, totaling more than 20 carats. Such extravagant shades come with a hefty price tag, estimated to be around $100,000 according to diamond expert Maxwell Stone.
This wasn’t the first time Williams sported these flashy eyewear. He previously wore a similar custom Tiffany & Co pair at Kenzo’s Paris Fashion Week show in January 2022 and also on the 2023 Grammys red carpet. Fans and netizens couldn’t help but praise his stylish look, with comments like “Slaying, as always” and “Those glasses have my attention.”
Attending the Dior show alongside his son Rocket and wife Helen Lasichanh, Williams joined a star-studded guest list that included Winnie Harlow, Amber Valletta, Thomas Doherty, Blake Gray, and many more notable figures from the fashion and entertainment industry.
Pharrell Williams, renowned for his pop hits “Happy” and “Blurred Lines,” has taken on the role of creative director following the untimely passing of his friend Virgil Abloh, who previously held the position from March 2018 until November 2021. Abloh, recognized as the industry’s most prominent Black designer, was credited with introducing street style and skateboard-inspired looks into high-end fashion.
In an official statement, Williams expressed his gratitude to Abloh for his contributions and acknowledged the significance of being an American Black man following in his footsteps. He also highlighted the immense support he has received from LVMH Chairman and Chief Executive Bernard Arnault and his family, with whom he has had a longstanding relationship.
As Pharrell Williams continues to make waves in the fashion industry, his unique sense of style and creative vision are sure to leave a lasting impact on the world of menswear.
