Security forces discovered and safely neutralized an improvised explosive device (IED) believed to have been planted by suspected terrorists on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. This successful intervention prevented a potential catastrophe on the outskirts of Jammu’s capital city. A suspicious object was spotted in the Nagrota area, leading to the prompt activation of a technical examination by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandan Kohli. As a precautionary measure, traffic was temporarily halted on the highway during this incident.
The object identified as an IED was located in the Panjgrain region. In response, a specialized bomb disposal squad was deployed to the scene, where the IED was safely rendered harmless using controlled techniques. A case has been registered under relevant legal provisions, and an investigation is underway. After the situation was resolved, normal traffic flow was reinstated on the highway.
