RPF’s female officers are acting as saviors for women passengers traveling alone or facing pregnancy-related emergencies. In the last two years, these dedicated officers have aided more than 300 pregnant women in delivering babies when they unexpectedly went into labor, whether on trains or railway premises. They are part of the “Meri Saheli” initiative by Indian Railways, not only assisting pregnant women during labor but also providing companionship and support to solo female travelers.
In an exclusive interview with Rajesh Kumar Thakur, Director General of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Manoj Yadava, a senior IPS officer from the Haryana cadre, discussed the various compassionate and distinctive services and programs undertaken by the RPF and its women officers across the Indian Railways network.
