Hangzhou: India bagged 20 medals including 7 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze in the ongoing Asian Para Games at Hangzhou, China. The event will take place between October 22-28. A total of 309 athletes from India including 196 men and 113 women will be competing in the 4th Asian Para Games.
In men’s Para Canoeing, Manish Kaurav won a bronze medal in the KL3 category. In women’s Para Canoeing KL2 category, Prachi Yadav secured the gold medal. This is her second medal at the event. In women’s 100 metres, Simran won the silver medal.

Avani Lekhara bagged the gold in the 10 metres air rifle event. Aruna Tanwar created history by securing the first ever bronze for India in Para Taekwondo. In the Men’s club throw, Pranav Soorma, Dharambir and Amit Siroha won gold, silver and bronze respectively.
India had won 72 medals including 15 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 33 bronze at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta.India will participate in 17 disciplines, including five sports — Canoe, Blind Football, Lawn Bowls, Rowing, and Taekwondo — for the very first time.
