Over the northwest Bay of Bengal, Cyclone ‘Hamoon’ has grown stronger and become a severe cyclonic storm, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday. According to the Met Department on X (previously Twitter), the cyclonic storm is expected to continue north-northeastward and make landfall in Bangladesh between Khepupara and Chittagong around midday on Thursday, October 25.
Up to seven states, including West Bengal, Odisha, Mizoram, and Meghalaya, among others, have received rainfall warnings from the IMD.
