Shankar Mahadevan commends RSS for upholding ideology of ‘Akhand Bharat’

During the annual Vijayadashami program of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Nagpur’s Reshimbagh area, renowned singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan extended his praise to the RSS for its significant role in preserving the nation’s culture, traditions, and the ideology of “Akhand Bharat.” Serving as the chief guest at the event, the 56-year-old, who is a recipient of the Padma Shri award, commenced his speech with a rendition of Saraswati Vandana, dedicated to the goddess of knowledge.

Mahadevan expressed his deep appreciation for the RSS, acknowledging its exceptional contributions in upholding the values of ‘Akhand Bharat,’ as well as safeguarding India’s rich traditions and culture. Upon receiving the invitation to participate as the chief guest at the RSS event, he was touched by the congratulatory calls he received. He recounted a meaningful meeting with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Mumbai, describing it as a fulfilling experience and expressing his gratitude for the warm invitation.

The singer-composer also visited the Hedgewar Smruti Mandir, the memorial of RSS founder Dr. K. B. Hedgewar in Nagpur, where he admired the organization’s Dussehra program and the seamless coordination with which it was executed. Mahadevan expressed a heightened sense of pride in being an Indian citizen and encouraged people to contribute to the nation’s development by excelling in their respective fields.
