Kerala woman attacks medical staff after being told not to cut queue

On Tuesday, a female employee of the government hospital in Thiruvananthapuram allegedly suffered abuse at the hands of a female patient.

Police said the woman also caused a disturbance inside the hospital after being warned not to skip the line to see the doctor.

Vidhya Tilak, an Enikkara resident, was charged by Peroorkada police with assaulting hospital employee Beenamol, 45, according to the police report.

The accused allegedly made several attempts to skip the line to see the doctor, and each time Beenamol tried to stop her, Tilak allegedly assaulted her.

The Indian Penal Code’s sections 323 (voluntarily causing harm) and 353 (assault to prevent a public worker from performing his duties) were among the ones she was charged with, according to the police.

She has also been charged under several provisions of the Kerala Healthcare Service Persons and Healthcare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property Act), according to the police.

According to authorities, the woman fled the hospital shortly after the incident.
