A tragic incident unfolded in Chovva, Kannur, where a 15-year-old boy, identified as Fas Abdul Jaleel K K from Thana, lost his life in a heartbreaking drowning accident. According to local law enforcement, the unfortunate incident occurred between 4.30 pm and 5 pm when Fas, accompanied by a friend, arrived at the Chovva Siva temple pond for an evening bath. It was during an attempt to swim across the pond that Fas found himself in grave danger, ultimately leading to his drowning.
In the midst of this tragedy, Fas’s friend’s desperate cries for help alerted local residents, who rushed to the scene. Despite their swift efforts to rescue him, Fas was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, but, regrettably, he could not be revived. The devastating outcome was confirmed at approximately 5.15 pm by an officer on the scene.
Fas Abdul Jaleel K K, son of Abdul Jaleel and Shamema, was a 10th-grade student at Bharatiya Vidyabhavan School in Kakkad, Kannur. The police have announced that after conducting an autopsy, his remains will be handed over to his grieving family.
