In a distressing incident that unfolded in Alangad near Aluva, a father’s rage escalated to a horrifying attempt on his 14-year-old daughter’s life. According to police reports, the man’s anger was sparked by his daughter’s interfaith relationship with a boy.
On the morning of October 29th around 8 am, the situation turned dire. The man had previously warned his daughter to end her relationship with her classmate, even confiscating her phone in an attempt to deter her. However, his daughter continued to communicate with her friend using another phone, which further infuriated him.
In an act of extreme brutality, the father resorted to violence, beating his minor daughter with an iron rod. This assault was followed by a shocking and deliberate act. The father force-fed her weedicide, well aware of its lethal consequences. The teenager’s life hung in the balance as she fell critically ill.
The gruesome incident only came to light when the hospital authorities alerted the police about the shocking cruelty. Subsequently, the Aluva West Police registered the case on Tuesday. The child’s mother, hearing the commotion, rushed to her daughter’s aid and discovered the father forcibly trying to make her ingest the deadly substance.
As described in the FIR, “The teenager had gulped down half a mouthful of the poison, and the rest was in her mouth when her mother saved her.” The young girl now remains under medical treatment at a private hospital in Kochi, struggling for her life. This deeply disturbing event highlights the grave consequences of intolerance and violence in the context of interfaith relationships.
