Lady superstar Nayanthara’s 75th film, “Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food,” is all set to grace the theaters on December 1. This Tamil film explores the journey of a food enthusiast with dreams of crafting a new life for herself. Nayanthara herself shared the exciting news on her official X account, saying, “‘Annapoorani’ releasing worldwide on Dec 1st.”
The film’s production house also joined in the announcement, stating on their X account, “‘Annapoorani’ is bringing you a feast and will see you in theaters on the 1st of December. Get Ready!” While the exact plot details remain a mystery, a teaser recently released by the film’s team provides some intriguing glimpses. In the teaser, Nayanthara’s character appears to come from a traditional, upper-caste background but decides to leave her old life behind to pursue her culinary dreams. This transformation is hinted at by a scene in which she is seen studying a variety of cookbooks, discreetly hidden behind her academic books.
The movie was filmed in Srirangam, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, where scenes from an agraharam are showcased. “Annapoorani” is Nayanthara’s next project following her Bollywood debut in the mega-blockbuster film “Jawan” alongside SRK and Atlee, solidifying her status as a pan-Indian icon.
Directed by Nilesh Krishnaa in his directorial debut, “Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food” also marks the reunion of Jai and Nayanthara after a decade. The cast includes Sathyaraj, Achyuth Kumar, Kumari Sachu, KS Ravikumar, Redin Kingsly, Karthik Kumar, and Suresh Chakkaravarthy. The film’s music is composed by Thaman, known for his work in “Varisu.”
