Actor-turned-politician Suresh Gopi found himself at the center of controversy after being accused of misbehaving with a woman journalist during a press meeting in Kozhikode last week. In response to these allegations, Suresh Gopi resorted to a tongue-in-cheek approach when facing questions from the media.
After participating in the Kerala Piravi Day celebration organized by a transgender group, he refused to answer questions from the press, humorously remarking, “No body touching, please keep away from me.” This stance continued in Thrissur, where he declined to respond to questions and even suggested that he would file charges against journalists for blocking his path. He emphatically stated, “Don’t block the way, I will also file a case (against you). I also have the right to walk. Do you want to know (the legal) clause?”
Suresh Gopi defended himself, claiming that he had merely attempted to move the journalist to one side when she repeatedly blocked his path. He characterized the questions from journalists as a “witch-hunt” and warned that he would cease communication with the media if the inquiries about the incident persisted.
