Mumbai: Online scams are increasing day by day. Nowadays, hackers are targeting smartphones. They target smartphones as most people use these handsets for making payments, booking a cab and more. Hackers steal confidential details like your bank account number among others from smartphones.
The National Crime Investigation Bureau (NCIB) has shared some codes to monitor your device and its behavior. As per the NCIB, these codes are essential for every phone user in India to know and what it offers.

*#21# – This code helps you know whether your call or even the phone number has been forwarded to any other number. Knowing this is essential to avoid call-forward scams.
#0# – Using this code tells the user if their phone’s display, speaker, camera, and sensor are working properly
*#07# – There is a USSD code that shares details like the SAR value of your phone. SAR value updates you about the radiation emanating from the device.
*#06# – This USSD code gives you the IMEI number of your phone. This number is needed when you lose the device and want to file a complaint with the police.
##4636## – The agency says this code gives you granular details about a smartphone’s battery, internet, and Wi-Fi as well.
##34971539## – Using this code you can check if the camera on your phone is working properly.
2767*3855# – This code is meant to reset your smartphone. Unless you back up the data on the phone, you will lose all of it by dialling this USSD code.
