3.6 magnitude earthquake hits West Bengal

On Wednesday morning, a magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck North Bengal, as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The seismic activity was experienced around 10 a.m. in the Alipurduar district of West Bengal. The NCS determined that the earthquake had a depth of 14 km and occurred at 21:53:28 IST.

The NCS shared the following details on their official platform: “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.6, Occurred on 08-11-2023, 10:51:58 IST, Lat: 26.58 & Long: 89.36, Depth: 14 Km, Location: Alipurduar, West Bengal.” Fortunately, there were no reports of casualties resulting from this earthquake.

Additionally, during the night spanning Tuesday to Wednesday, a separate earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 was recorded in Punjab’s Rupnagar.
