In Popular Front of India case, investigation agency NIA files additional charge sheet

On Monday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Kerala filed an additional chargesheet against one of the accused in the case against the banned Popular Front of India (PFI).

Palakkad native Saheer KV is one of the accused in the PFI case. On May 16 of this year, the NIA’s Absconder Tracking Team captured him.

Since Srinivasan, the leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was killed on April 16, 2022, the accused has been at large.

An essential member of the PFI Assault Team that carried out the murder was Saheer KV. He is currently charged with many offenses under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

In September 2022, the NIA initiated a case, and on March 17 of this year, it filed a full chargesheet against 59 accused parties.

The illegal conspiracy that the PFI and its leaders concocted to drive a rift between members of different communities was the subject of the case.

The remaining ten abscond accused are being sought after and arrested.
