In a tragic incident that unfolded on a Sunday evening in Doddagubbi, Kothanur, a Malayali youth and his live-in partner lost their lives after they set themselves on fire in their apartment. The individuals involved in this devastating event were identified as Abil Abraham, a 29-year-old native of Idukki, and Soumini Das, a 20-year-old hailing from Kolkata.
The incident sent shockwaves through the community, with Soumini tragically succumbing to her burns on the spot, while Abil’s struggle for life continued until he ultimately passed away in the hospital.
The circumstances leading up to this fateful event were equally troubling. Abil had recently started living with Soumini, who was a married woman. She pursued her education as a BSC nursing student at a private college in Marathahalli, while Abil was engaged in running a nursing recruitment agency in Bengaluru.
In response to this tragic incident, the Kothanur police took immediate action by registering a case to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
