A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan lost his life in an incident of unprovoked firing initiated by Pakistan Rangers along the International Border (IB) in the Ramgarh sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district. This tragic event occurred early on a Thursday, marking the third ceasefire violation by Pakistan Rangers within a span of just 24 days in the Jammu frontier. The BSF soldier sustained injuries during the attack and was swiftly evacuated to a local hospital. However, his condition deteriorated, and he was subsequently transferred to the GMC Hospital in Jammu, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

This event is the latest in a series of ceasefire violations by Pakistan Rangers, with prior incidents on October 28 and October 17 causing injuries to BSF personnel. Remarkably, these hostilities continue despite a ceasefire agreement signed between the two sides on February 25, 2021, making it the sixth violation of the truce.
