New POCSO case filed against ‘Mallu Traveler’

Popular Malayali YouTube vlogger, known as ‘Mallu Traveller,’ Shakir Subhan, is facing fresh legal troubles as he has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). This legal action stems from a complaint filed by his first wife, who recently gave an interview to a news channel, in which she made disturbing allegations of abuse and mistreatment by Shakir when she was just 15 years old.

During the interview with ReporterLive, she accused Shakir of physically assaulting her, taking inappropriate photographs of both herself and her family members, manipulating these images, and using them to threaten her. She further alleged that he created a social media account in her name and swindled people out of money. In response to her complaint, the Dharmmadam police in Kerala’s Kannur district have initiated a case against Shakir, although no arrest has been made thus far. The case has subsequently been transferred to the Iritty police station in Kannur.

This isn’t the first time Shakir Subhan has encountered legal issues. In September of this year, he faced allegations of molesting a female vlogger from Saudi Arabia. She uploaded a video on her channel, detailing her experience of being molested by Shakir in his hotel room during a meeting in Ernakulam. Shakir had denied these accusations in a video, labeling the complaint as ‘fake.’ Subsequently, he left the country, and a lookout notice was issued against him while the police investigation continues.
