Police Declare Kerala Secretariat Bomb Threat a Hoax; Suspect Arrested

According to police sources, the reported bomb threat at the Kerala Secretariat has been confirmed as a hoax. The suspect, who was swiftly apprehended after the incident, hails from Uchakkada in Pozhiyoor and is believed to be mentally unsound. He is currently under interrogation by law enforcement.

The threat message was initially received at the state police headquarters at 11.30 am via the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), which is a nationwide emergency response system for citizens. Subsequently, the information was transferred to the city police, leading to an increase in security measures at the Secretariat premises in response to the threat.

Notably, this incident comes shortly after Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan received a threatening message from a 12-year-old boy via the same 112 number-based emergency system last week.
