US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has touched down in Delhi, with the primary objective of participating in the highly anticipated India-US “2+2” foreign and defense ministerial dialogue. Scheduled for Friday, this dialogue is set to be a significant diplomatic event. Already in Delhi is US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, adding to the anticipation and importance of the discussions.
The Indian delegation for the dialogue will be jointly led by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The visit by Secretary Blinken is met with a warm welcome, as noted by the Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, who expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “A warm welcome to US Secretary of State @SecBlinken as he arrives in New Delhi to co-chair the 5th India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue.” He further emphasized that this visit would provide a significant boost to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. The arrival of these high-level officials in Delhi signifies the importance of the ongoing diplomatic ties and the potential for strengthened collaboration between the two nations in various global strategic aspects.
