Early on Friday morning, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken travelled to Delhi to take part in the sixth India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue. The Indian side will be represented in the 2+2 meeting on Friday by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh greeted US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin as he arrived in Delhi on Thursday. ‘The visit will give further boost to India-US relations,’ the External Affairs Ministry stated, welcoming the senior US diplomat.
‘A warm welcome to US Secretary of State @SecBlinken as he arrives in New Delhi to co-chair the 5th India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue. The visit will give further boost to India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership!’ MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on X.
The 2+2 dialogue is anticipated to conduct a thorough assessment of the rapidly growing strategic ties between the US and India. The conversation will centre on a number of topics, such as people-to-people relationships, Indo-Pacific strategy, defence and security cooperation, and more.
Additionally, S Jaishankar and Rajnath Singh will meet separately on a bilateral basis with Lloyd and Blinken, respectively.
