Parcel, yard officers named in bribery case being investigated by CBI at Mumbai’s Kurla terminal

In two incidents involving purported irregularities and bribes involving officials at Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Kurla, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) opened an investigation.

Officials from the parcel and yard divisions have been identified as the accused in relation to parcel management and helping to arrange for the installation of VPU Waggons at the LTT. According to an investigation, the accused policemen gave part of the illicit monies to their bosses at both departments and reportedly accepted bribes from private agents.

Earlier, joint surprise checks were carried out, which prompted the CBI to act and file the cases. About eight places in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Nashik, and other districts were searched by the CBI.

Mobile phones, other case-related evidence, and damning documents were found during the probe agency’s searches of various locations, including the accused’s home.

A detailed investigation is underway.
