In Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh, two tantriks, or occultists, were taken into custody after they allegedly killed a man on the false pretence of assisting him in becoming wealthy. On November 4, the disfigured body of the 22-year-old victim was found in a field, with slashes on his head and neck from a sharp object.
Additionally, by claiming it would make him richer, the accused persuaded Ankit Kaurav, the victim, to slash the middle finger on his right hand.
The 40-year-old Surendra Kachi and the 45-year-old Rammu Kachi have been recognised as the tantriks. After police established a special team led by SP Amit Kumar, both of them were taken into custody.
The victim and the accused were observed riding bikes on the night of the event, according to the inquiry. When he had become ill around four months prior, he had also sought advice from occultists.
He had also seen doctors, but according to the police, occultists were the only ones who could help him recover.
The victim chose to re-trust the accused as a result of this encounter. When the victim’s brother-in-law became ill about 15 days ago, the family began to experience financial difficulties due to the cost of the treatment.
The 22-year-old then got in touch with the occultists once more and stated that he wanted additional money.
The occultists agreed, and they also succeeded in getting Ankit to sever his right middle finger. They brought him along to the village of Tekapar, where they organised his ‘narbali’ (human sacrifice).
After taking sleeping medications, the occultists killed Ankit. They were brought before the court and are now being held in custody. The problem is currently being looked into further.
