The Kasaba police have officially confirmed the tragic demise of Sainaba (53), who had gone missing from Kuttikkattoor, revealing that her friend Samad is responsible for her murder on November 7. A police team discovered her body in a gorge along the Nadukani-Gudalur stretch. The scientific examination of the decomposed remains positively identified the victim as Sainaba.
Samad, hailing from Malappuram’s Tanur, was apprehended after the body’s recovery, and he will be brought to the Kasaba police station by Monday evening. Authorities are actively searching for Samad’s accomplice, Sulaiman, who allegedly assisted in the heinous act of strangling the woman to death.
In his statement to the police, Samad admitted to the crime, citing financial motives and greed for gold as the driving factors. His surrender on Monday morning to the Kasaba police included a detailed confession, revealing the cold-blooded murder and disposal of the body in the gorge. The police promptly located the crime scene and subjected the recovered body to a thorough scientific examination.
The chilling details of the planned murder emerged as Samad narrated the events of November 7. Initially luring Sainaba with an offer of Rs 10,000 for tending to a bedridden person in Tanur, the assailants altered their plan when Samad’s family returned home unexpectedly. Choosing to execute the crime during the journey back to Kozhikode, Sulaiman strangled Sainaba near Areekode. Following the act, they disposed of her belongings, including phones and a bag. Samad further informed the police that Sulaiman and his associates forcibly took the victim’s gold from him.
