Ingredients:
– 2 ripe bananas, mashed
– 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 cup sugar
– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2 large eggs
– 1/2 cup vegetable oil
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup hot water
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×9-inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla extract.
3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined.
5. Slowly pour in the hot water and stir until the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin, but that’s normal.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
