Sriram Raghavan’s much-anticipated directorial, “Merry Christmas,” is now scheduled for release on January 12, 2024, as announced by the filmmakers on Thursday. The film, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, has experienced multiple delays and was initially slated for a theatrical release on December 12 of the current year.
Presented by Tips Films and Matchbox Pictures, “Merry Christmas” is described as a “genre-defying tale” shot in Hindi and Tamil, featuring a unique ensemble of supporting actors, as outlined in a press release. The film’s team expressed their deep affection for the project and affirmed their unwavering commitment to delivering an extraordinary cinematic experience.
In their statement, the team acknowledged the film’s creation with love and passion, citing the decision to extend the season of joy and reschedule the release to January 12, 2024, due to the crowded last two months of 2023 with consecutive movie releases.
The Hindi version of “Merry Christmas” includes Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, while the Tamil iteration features Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, Rajesh Williams, and introduces the child actor Pari in the same roles. The film, produced by Ramesh Taurani, Jaya Taurani, Sanjay Routray, and Kewal Garg, also boasts cameos by Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte.
