Residents of Beltrami County Minnesota reports witnessing a bright flash and a ‘sonic boom’ in the sky

Residents in the vicinity of Beltrami County, Minnesota, spanning an 80-kilometer radius, observed a brilliant flash and heard a “sonic boom” in the sky during the evening of Monday, November 13.

In an effort to unravel the enigma surrounding this occurrence, NASA astronomers and local astrophysics professors are collaborating. Video footage from an airport captured the movement of an object across the sky in a “horizontal” fashion, prompting experts to cast doubt on its typical meteorite classification.

NASA scientists are probing the incident, examining airport footage that depicts the trajectory of a distinct object synchronized with the resonating sonic boom.

An expert in meteorites estimated the object’s dimensions to be comparable to that of a refrigerator, hurtling into the atmosphere at speeds ranging from 48,000 to 209,300 kilometers per hour.

Initial concerns raised by Beltrami County Emergency Management about the object being a meteorite were ultimately dismissed due to its proximity to Earth.

Juan Cabanilla, a local physicist, expressed skepticism to the DailyMail, particularly regarding the event’s conformity to the characteristics of a standard meteorite, given the timing of the explosion.

Security cameras at private residences and Bemidji Regional Airport recorded a vivid flash, a white streak across the airport, and a loud explosion.

Upon analysis of the airport video by NASA and an astronomer, doubts emerged concerning the object’s classification as a meteorite.

Beltrami County Emergency Management considered the possibility of a transformer explosion but found no supporting evidence.

Upon further scrutiny of additional airport footage, the director noted the presence of insects during the incident. In the pursuit of terrestrial explanations, the airport’s “fast white line” was reevaluated and attributed to likely be an insect landing on a pole.

Despite claims of a UFO, Beltrami County Emergency Management, in consultation with NASA, discarded the notion of a flying saucer as an improbable explanation.

Multiple videos, along with data from a “full-sky camera,” revealed no indications of a meteor, reinforcing the argument for a terrestrial event. As the mystery endures, both residents and experts remain captivated by this peculiar celestial phenomenon.
