Mumbai: Indian equity benchmark indices ended higher for the second consecutive session on November 16. BSE sensex settled at 65,982.48, up 306.55 points or 0.47%. NSE Nifty ended at 19,765.20, up 89.70 points or 0.46%.
About 1964 shares advanced, 1665 shares declined, and 109 shares remained unchanged. Top gainers were Hero MotoCorp, Tech Mahindra, TCS, HCL Technologies, Bajaj Finserv, Dr Reddy’s Labs, LTIMindtree, Apollo Hospitals, M&M, Bajaj Finance and Infosys. Top losers were Axis Bank, Coal India, Power Grid Corporation, Tata Consumer Products, NTPC, BPCL, Wipro, Tata Motors, Titan, ONGC, Sun Pharma, HDFC Bank, Tata Steel, Divis Labs, IndusInd Bank, Maruti Suzuki, and Adani Enterprises.

Among sectors, information technology index gained nearly 3%, while realty, oil & gas and auto up 1% each. The Nifty PSU Bank index fell 0.24%, the Nifty FMCG 0.15%, and the Nifty Bank 0.09%. On the upside, the Nifty IT index rallied 2.7% followoed by the Nifty Pharma, Media, and Metal indices (up 0.8% each). BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices added 1% each.
