Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, recently appeared to endorse an antisemitic post on his own social media platform, marking the latest in a series of controversies surrounding him. The post featured a video where a father chastises his son on the platform for spreading hatred against Jewish people, accompanied by a caption that challenges those anonymously supporting offensive views like “Hitler was right” to express themselves openly.
A user with the handle @breakingbaht on the platform launched a harsh critique of the video, asserting that Jewish communities engage in the same kind of divisive rhetoric against whites that they advocate against. Musk expressed his support for this post, commenting, “You have said the actual truth.”
Musk has faced considerable backlash for his failure to address the issue of hatred proliferating on his social media platform. Reports suggest that he remained silent when a post by a Pakistani senator praised Hitler for his actions against Jews.
Even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in mid-September, implored Musk to take action against the ongoing antisemitism on the platform. During a face-to-face meeting at the Tesla factory in Fremont, California, Netanyahu acknowledged Musk’s commitment to free speech but urged him to confront antisemitism, emphasizing Musk’s prior statements condemning such sentiments.
