The scientific examination into the tragic death of eight-year-old Adithya Sree in Thiruvilwamala has unveiled a potential twist. Initially attributed to a mobile phone burst, the analysis of the explosion’s chemicals revealed traces of Potassium Chlorate and Sulphur – commonly used in crackers, particularly to deter wild animals like boars.
There is suspicion that Adithya might have accidentally bitten on a firecracker, leading to the fatal incident. While the police have not confirmed this theory, a new investigation, spearheaded by the DySP of Kunnamkulam, has been initiated.
Adithya Sree, the daughter of Soumya and Ashok Kumar, a former member of Pazhayannur Block Panchayat, passed away on April 24. Her grandmother, present at the time, mentioned that Adithya had been watching videos on the phone for an extended period before the explosion occurred.
The surgeon conducting the postmortem raised concerns about the depth of the wounds, prompting a more detailed examination of the samples. Adithya Sree suffered severe injuries to her face, with the fingers on her right hand severed and the palm broken due to the impact. She was a third-grade student at Christ New Life School, Thiruvilwamala
