Air India Express (AIE) has introduced two additional flights connecting Mangaluru and Bengaluru, bolstering the air travel options between the two cities. This expansion increases the total number of flights from Mangaluru to the state capital to seven, according to information from airport sources. The inaugural flight, IX 782, commenced operations on Tuesday, marking the beginning of this enhanced air connectivity. A second flight, IX1795, follows the Kannur-Bengaluru-Mangaluru route.
Upon the new flight’s arrival on the apron, the airport marked the occasion with the customary water cannon salute, a gesture often extended to commemorate significant events in aviation. The initial passengers on the flight received a warm welcome, highlighting the significance of this extension in air services between Mangaluru and Bengaluru.
