Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi has returned bills awaiting his assent, prompting the state to schedule a special Assembly sitting on November 18 for their reconsideration. Speaker M Appavu confirmed this development, revealing the intention to promptly re-adopt the bills. The move follows the DMK government’s Supreme Court plea, highlighting delays in Governor Ravi’s approval of Assembly-passed bills. The court expressed concern over the alleged delays and sought the Centre’s response to the state’s accusations against the Raj Bhavan for holding back 12 bills. The special session aims to address this legislative backlog.
