In Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, a 27-year-old man, Dinesh Pusu Gawde, was reportedly murdered by suspected Naxalites on Thursday, just a day after Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s visit to the district. The victim, hailing from Laheri village in Bhamragarh, had traveled to Pengunda on Wednesday to participate in a sports competition when the incident occurred. Gawde was brutally killed with a sharp weapon, and a note was left at the crime scene by the alleged perpetrators, accusing the deceased of being a police informer, as confirmed by a police official.
Contrary to the accusations, the police official emphasized that Gawde was not involved in any informant activities for the police. A murder case has been registered at the Dhodaraj police station, and the victim’s body has been sent to Bhamragarh for post-mortem examination. Authorities are actively working to apprehend the culprits responsible for this tragic incident. The murder took place shortly after Chief Minister Shinde’s visit to Pipli Burgi in Gadchiroli’s Etapalli taluka on Wednesday.
