DNA testing has officially confirmed the identity of a body preserved at Goa Medical College, establishing it as that of Jeff John Louis. The youth from Kochi had been missing for two years, and a grim revelation by Kochi police unveiled a tragic tale.
Gladis Louis, Jeff’s mother, initially reported his disappearance to the Ernakulam South police station when he failed to return home. The investigation centered on Jeff’s friends, leading to the discovery of Anil Chacko’s involvement. Anil, a Wayanad native, eventually confessed to the murder and implicated four others.
According to Anil, he and Jeff were engaged in drug peddling, and Jeff’s betrayal by tipping off the police about their activities prompted the sinister plan. Anil and the accomplices lured Jeff to an isolated hill in Goa, where they executed the murder and promptly fled the state.
After two years, all four culprits were apprehended, and the police connected the dots to a body at Goa Medical College. DNA samples from Jeff’s parents and relatives conclusively matched, providing irrefutable evidence that the preserved body indeed belonged to the missing Kochi youth.
