The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has opted to change the color of its staff uniforms from blue to khaki, marking the reintroduction of khaki attire after an eight-year hiatus. The decision, disclosed in an order dated November 16, will alter the current uniforms worn by male conductors and drivers—navy blue shirts and dark blue pants—and women conductors—navy blue churidar and overcoat. The new khaki uniforms will consist of pants and a half-sleeve shirt with a pocket for men, while women will wear khaki churidar and a sleeveless overcoat, all featuring the KSRTC emblem and a name board with the permanent employee number (PEN).
The attire adjustments extend to Station Masters, Vehicle Supervisors, and Chargemen, who will wear khaki pants and half-sleeve shirts, complemented by a name board and a shoulder flap specifying their category. Inspectors are designated a khaki safari suit with a name board detailing the Corporation’s emblem, name, and position. Employees in various roles, including mechanic, pump operator, tire inspector, tire re-trader, and store staff, will wear navy blue pants and shirts, or navy blue sarees and blouses or churidars. Peon category employees are exempt from the uniform requirement, and each employee is entitled to two sets of uniforms. Units with unchanged uniform patterns should maintain their existing attire.
