A video capturing rapper ASAP Rocky allegedly discharging a firearm at a former childhood friend has gained widespread attention. The rapper is now set to face trial over accusations of firing a pistol during a dispute with the said acquaintance. The decision for ASAP Rocky, also known as Rakim Mayers, to stand trial was reached on the second day of a court hearing.
According to reports, the incident occurred approximately two years ago when ASAP Rocky purportedly aimed and shot a handgun at Terell Ephron, resulting in minor injuries. The rapper, however, has entered a plea of not guilty in response to the charges.
ASAP Rocky is currently confronted with two felony counts of assault with a firearm, and if convicted, he could potentially face a prison sentence of up to nine years.
Terell Ephron, the alleged victim and a former associate of the A$AP Mob hip-hop collective, has a history with ASAP Rocky dating back to their time together in a New York high school. In a separate legal action, Ephron characterizes himself as the target of assault and battery, citing negligence and emotional distress. He claims that ASAP Rocky deliberately enticed him to an undisclosed location outside the W Hotel in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on November 6, 2021, ostensibly to address a disagreement.
