Kuwait City: Kuwait has announced a four-day public holiday for New Year. Sunday, December 31 and Monday, January 1 will be public holidays marking the occasion of the New Year. As, Friday and Saturday are weekends in the country, employees will get a 4-day holiday.

The decision was taken during the cabinet’s weekly meeting, presided over by the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Meanwhile, the Civil Service Commission informed that government bodies with a ‘special work nature’ will have their holidays determined by their own internal management, taking into consideration ‘public interest,.
