The 28th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is set to kick off with the commencement of delegate registration at 10 am on November 22. To register online, visit www.iffk.in. “Students can secure delegate passes for Rs 590, inclusive of GST, while the general category fee is Rs 1,180,” says the official announcement. Alternatively, registrations can be completed at the delegate cell, situated at the main IFFK venue, Tagore Theatre.
The eight-day festival, starting on December 8, will feature a diverse selection of 180 films across 15 theaters in Thiruvananthapuram. The international competition category will showcase films from Asian, African, and Latin American countries. The festival’s program spans across categories like ‘Malayalam Cinema Today,’ ‘Indian Cinema Now,’ ‘World Cinema,’ ‘Country Focus,’ ‘Retrospectives of major filmmakers,’ and ‘Contemporary Focus,’ bringing the best of World Cinema and contemporary creations.
In addition to film screenings, the festival offers opportunities for interaction with film personalities through platforms like Open Forum and workshops. The annual Aravindan Memorial Lecture is also scheduled alongside the film festivities, enriching the overall experience for delegates.
