NTA Aligns NEET-UG Syllabus with School Boards for Conciseness

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has streamlined the NEET-UG syllabus to harmonize with the curriculum adjustments made by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and various school boards. As the nation’s largest medical admissions exam, NEET-UG is scheduled for May 5 next year. The NTA, in an official notification, stated, “The Undergraduate Medical Education Board, under the National Medical Commission, has finalized the NEET (UG)-2024 syllabus.”

The NTA encourages stakeholders, especially aspiring candidates, to refer to the updated syllabus on the NMC’s website for NEET (UG)-2024 preparation. The notification advises, “The stakeholders are advised to refer to the updated syllabus for NEET (UG)-2024 for the preparation of the study material and for preparation of NEET (UG) examinations for the academic session 2024-25.”

In affirming this adjustment, NTA officials noted its alignment with the ongoing rationalization of syllabi by CBSE and school boards. This move follows the NTA’s recent rationalization of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) 2024 syllabus, syncing it with the revised syllabi of CBSE and various state boards. Since 2021, CBSE and many state boards have adopted a rationalized syllabus to alleviate the academic burden on students.
