Former India cricketer S Sreesanth strongly refutes allegations of fraud and expresses his intent to seek legal recourse to clear his name. The Town Police has registered a case against Sreesanth and others, accusing them of extorting Rs 18 lakh by promising a villa in Udupi to a native of Kannapuram.
Sreesanth takes to Twitter to address the matter, stating, “I would like to address a matter that requires clarification. There is currently false information being spread about me. I want to emphasize that these claims are completely unfounded, and I have no involvement with them whatsoever.”
Expressing dismay at attempts to exaggerate the situation, Sreesanth assures, “I have not engaged in any financial transactions or any other activities at all. It is truly disheartening to witness individuals attempting to amplify this situation into something significant. I assure you that legal action will be taken against these persons.”
The police case stems from a complaint filed at the Kannur First Class Magistrate Court. According to the complainant, Rajeev Kumar and Venkatesh Kini, who claimed association with Sreesanth, took money in 2019 promising a villa on five cents of land. When the promises went unfulfilled, the complainant was informed of Sreesanth initiating a cricket project on the land.
Sreesanth allegedly met the complainant, promising a villa as part of his project. With no further communication from Sreesanth or the others, the complainant, feeling deceived, turns to the court for resolution.
