Mumbai: Private Indian carrier, Akasa Air has announced plans to launch daily flight services between Bengaluru and Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The service will start from December 15.
The flight will transit through Chennai. Thus, Port Blair becomes Akasa Air’s 17th domestic destination on the airline’s list.

Flight number QP 1485 has been allocated to fly from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport at 6 am and arrive in Chennai at around 7:05 AM. Then, it will depart from Chennai at 7:45 am and reach Port Blair at 9:55 AM. Flight number QP 1486 will then depart from Port Blair at 10:35 am and reach Chennai at 1 pm. It will then take off for Bengaluru city at 1:35 pm and reach at 2:50 pm.
Akasa Air began its commercial operations from August 07, 2022. It has successfully completed one year of commercial operations, having flown over five million revenue passengers connecting 16 cities, namely Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, and Kolkata. Akasa Air will add 54 additional aircraft in next few years, taking its total fleet size to 72 aircraft.
