CBSE youth fest kicks off in Kalady

Renowned actor Navya Nair inaugurated the 15th State CBSE Youth Festival at Sree Sarada Vidyalaya in Kalady on Friday. During the opening ceremony, K Anand, the managing trustee of Adi Shankara Trust, lit 15 lamps on the dais, symbolizing the 15th edition of the event. Over the next three days, approximately 10,000 students from various parts of the state will participate in 140 competitions held across 25 venues from 8 am to 9 pm. Besides Sree Sarada Vidyalaya, competitions will take place at Adi Sankara BEd Training College, Sree Sankara College, and Adi Sankara Engineering College.

The main stage at Sree Sarada Vidyalaya is now named after the late writer P Valsala, while other venues are dedicated to prominent Malayalam writers. State Film Award-winning actor Rajisha Vijayan is scheduled to inaugurate the valedictory function on November 26, with Benny Behanan MP presiding over the event. The festival also sees the participation of Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboodiri, who, for the fifth time, brings his culinary expertise to the State CBSE School Kalolsavam. On the festival’s first day, he treated attendees to idli and sambar in the morning and a lunch spread featuring 12 dishes, including rice, sambar, thoran, pickles, and palada prathaman.
