Telecom Connectivity Reaches High-Altitude Buddhist Village in Kishtwar

Sumcham, a high-altitude Buddhist village near the Kargil region, now enjoys telecom connectivity with the successful installation of a JIO mobile tower in the Dangail area, as confirmed by an official. Leveraging VSAT technology, the entire Dangail vicinity and its surroundings experience seamless connectivity through the JIO network. The LG Administration J&K and the district administration have taken the lead in providing mobile network facilities to this previously isolated region, situated at an elevation of 3,250 meters from Mean Sea Level (MSL). Sumcham, a segment of Losaini village, has not only received solar power packs earlier but has now further solidified its telecommunication accessibility with the newly installed mobile tower.

These transformative interventions mark a significant step towards the progress and well-being of the communities in this challenging terrain. The JIO authorities have ambitious plans to enhance connectivity by connecting the mobile tower through fiber optics. Sumcham, with its adoption of solar power packs and integration into the JIO network, serves as a model of sustainable and innovative electrification, demonstrating how technology and connectivity can uplift remote regions. This development is poised to improve the lives of the residents and open new avenues for growth and communication in Sumcham and its neighboring areas.
