In a tragic incident on Saturday night, four individuals faced critical injuries as two KSRTC buses collided head-on at Moonnukallinmoodu near Neyyattinkara. Among the injured were the drivers and conductors, including a female conductor, who are currently undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram’s Medical College Hospital.
With approximately 30 passengers on board both buses, the collision took place around 10.30 pm. The mishap unfolded as a bus originating from Nagercoil and en route to Neyyattinkara depot collided with another Fast Passenger while overtaking a car. The impact left the front sides of both buses severely damaged.
Despite the severity of the crash, reports indicate that the passengers’ conditions are stable. Emergency services swiftly attended to the situation, with 18 passengers rushed to Neyyantikara’s Taluk Hospital. Notably, the location of the accident is recognized as a notorious black spot, underscoring the need for increased safety measures in such areas.
