Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly gifted his Mumbai residence, ‘Prateeksha,’ valued at Rs 50 crore, to his daughter Shweta Bachchan. This home holds immense sentimental value as it was Big B’s first residence in Juhu, where he lived with his parents, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. Notably, Prateeksha witnessed the marriage of his son Abhishek Bachchan and actress Aishwarya Rai in 2007.
The transfer of ownership for Prateeksha, estimated at over Rs 50 crore, was formalized through two separate gift deeds on November 8, accompanied by a stamp duty payment of Rs 50.65 lakh. It is worth mentioning that Bachchan also owns two other bungalows in Mumbai, namely Jalsa and Janak.
During the 14th season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati,’ the iconic actor shared the origin of the bungalow’s name, revealing that his father was the one who named it. Amitabh Bachchan explained, “This name was given by my father… There is a line in one of my father’s poems which says, ‘Swagat sabke liye yahan par nehin kisike liye Prateeksha.'”
