Raids on Samajwadi Party neta houses in Uttar Pradesh; possible sale of illegal drugs

The state vigilance department raided properties connected to Samajwadi Party politician and former legislator Mukesh Shrivastav of Payagpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. In relation to a case involving disproportionate assets, three departments raided the SP leader’s homes and properties.

The vigilance agency conducted the raids in response to a complaint that the leader of the Samajwadi Party and his spouse had assets that were out of proportion to their known sources of income.

The search warrants were executed at the places of Mukesh Shrivastav’s company and at his homes in Bahraich and Prayagraj. Documents pertaining to many unexplained assets were taken during the raids from the medicine market in front of the Bahraich District Hospital, where Shrivastav was purportedly in charge of managing the medical supplies.

About twenty-odd companies, including RP Group, Srishti Enterprises, Hindustan Drugs, UP Drugs, Aman Corporation, Indian Drugs, Shri Balaji General Suppliers, and Lucknow Medical Agency, were the subject of the raids.

Under the names revealed during the raids, these companies were allegedly involved in drug shipments. At the scene, the vigilance teams also took possession of hard drives, pen drives, and papers.
