Western India expected to receive rain today, with light showers likely in Delhi

On Monday, November 27, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned that areas of northwest India, including portions of eastern Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, could get light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and hailstorms.

It further stated that there is expected to be more severe to very dense cloud cover over the Vidharbha region of Maharashtra, along with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hailstorms.

But according to IMD, Monday’s weather in the Kachchh and western Gujarat regions is expected to stay stable with clear sky.

In addition, mild to moderate rainfall is possible on Monday night in several areas of Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh.

Delhi’s air quality, with an AQI of 375 on Monday as opposed to 389 the previous day, showed some improvement but was still classified as ‘very poor.’

The air quality at Pusa Road was 370, the air quality near Lodhi Road was hanging around 338, and the air quality near IGI Airport was 359, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data taken at 7 am.

The national capital is expected to see a brief break from the poor air quality today due to the potential of very light rain or drizzle, according to the weather service.

Parts of Madhya Pradesh experienced their first winter rainfall earlier on Sunday. A ‘orange’ advisory was also released by the IMD, indicating that strong rains were expected in the southwest over the course of the following day.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Maharashtra forecasted strong winds, thunderstorms, and hailstorms in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, and thunderstorms with lightning are quite possible in some areas of Nashik and Ahmednagar districts.
