Mumbai: BMW has unveiled 2 new models- BMW R 12 and R12 NineT. The R 12 is a cruiser and the R 12 nineT is a retro roadster.
BMW R 12: The bike is powered by an air/oil-cooled, 1,170cc, horizontally opposed (boxer) twin engine. This engine generates 95 bhp at 6,500rpm and 110Nm at 6,000rpm. Embracing this powerhouse is a new tubular bridge steel space frame. Suspension duties are handled by a non-adjustable USD fork and a paralever rear suspension.
It has a 19-inch rim in the front and a 16-inch one at the rear. The braking duty is done by twin 310mm discs up front with radially mounted 4-pot calipers and a 265mm disc at the rear, featuring a 2-piston caliper. Other standard features include Cornering ABS, traction control, and two riding modes—Roll and Rock.

BMW R 12 NINE T: The R 12 nineT is the updated version of the R nineT. he motor on the R 12 nineT makes 107 bhp at 7,000 rpm | 115 Nm at 6,500 rpm and is paired to a six-speed gearbox. The bike weighs 220 kg, which is 1 kg lesser than the R nineT. The seat height too drops down from 805 mm on the R nineT to 790 mm on the R 12 nineT.
The roadster also gets USD fork which is fully adjustable. There are three riding modes on offer – Rain, Road & Dynamic. The new R 12 nineT comes equipped with two analogue round instruments for speed and rpms, a USB-C port on the left side, and a 12V socket on the right side for the onboard network. The bike will be offered in three colours – Blackstorm Metallic, San Remo Green Metallic & Option 719 Aluminium.
