Ridley Scott to resume shooting for his much-awaited sequel to Gladiator

Ridley Scott is set to resume filming the highly anticipated sequel to Gladiator, revealing that work on the film will commence on December 4. Originally scheduled to start earlier, the project faced delays due to an actors’ strike called in July.

Gladiator 2 boasts an ensemble cast featuring Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, and Pedro Pascal. Connie Nielsen and Derek Jacobi, who played roles in the 2000 original, will reprise their characters. Russell Crowe, the lead in the original film, will not return for the sequel as his character meets his demise in the first installment.
