Karachi: An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 hit Pakistan on Tuesday morning. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was at 34.66 degrees north latitude and 73.51 degrees east longitude. The earthquake was at a depth of 10 km.

Similarly, an earthquake of magnitude 5.0 on the Richter Scale struck Xizang in China, at 3:45 am. The earthquake was at a depth of 140 km.
Earlier, powerful earthquake measuring 6.5-magnitude on the Richter Scale struck off the northern coast of Papua New Guinea on Tuesday. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake hit about 20 kilometres off the coast, a short distance from the town of Wekak, capital of the Pacific island state’s East Sepik Province. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 12 kilometres. No tsunami warning was issued.
