Two individuals, Dilip Kumar Sikdar and Tridip Kumar Roy, both originally from West Bengal, were apprehended in Thrissur for operating clinics specializing in piles treatment. Dilip Kumar Sikdar, aged 67, practiced medicine for over 30 years and was arrested at his ‘Chandsi Clinic’ in Kizhakkumpattukara, just four kilometers from the Collector’s Office. The arrest stemmed from an inspection prompted by a complaint filed with the District Medical Officer. The inspection revealed the presence of Allopathic, Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, and Unani medicines at the clinic. Authorities noted that Sikdar possessed documents claiming the right to practice any stream of medicine, leading to charges under IPC section 420 for cheating.
Simultaneously, Tridip Kumar Roy, aged 55, operating a piles treatment clinic in Kunnamkulam, faced arrest on the same day.
